glomgold having these hand drawn slideshows is a funny recurring thing Because it's

1. in character, and
2. a thing only he does.

this is important to me because it's a Major pet peeve of mine in hazbin hotel and helluva boss

addendum to the #2 point: louie shows drawings too, but in pitch packets, so it's a different medium and feels different. it also still feels right/in character because of course a child's pitch packet comes with hand colored drawings.

glomgold's slideshows and louie's drawings r silly "character-made" visual gags done right, imo! again, one is a character you're not meant to take seriously, and the other is a child, so their silly drawings make SENSE.

compare that to this drawing that alastor supposedly made for the in-universe hotel commercial he filmed.

alastor? alastor. prohibition era radio host people eating fearsome overlord alastor? writing "ship! i guess" and "haha i named it"....... Girl

i know that whole show relies on low hanging fruit for humor, and gee maybe i'm underestimating alastor's sense of whimsy, but it bothers me that the doodles and notes feel so samey. it is disappointing to see a piece of media not even take its own characters' personalities and backgrounds seriously.

i know it appeals to fans who are like "hehe even alastor is stupid" but it's the same! fucking! joke! whenever we see characters showing their work!

and yeah, for blitzø and adam it makes sense they do that, but vox and charlie? man. did you all go to the same shitty school? do you all have a passion for doodling and unfunny, immature side comments? my god

ohhh louie's little speech is really sweet and touching... he truly was the star of this season!

also. louie is the one who gets drawn with darker eyebrows sometimes (rarely the other two, if at all), so i am inclined to assume that in della's drawing: L = dewey, R = louie, B = huey

(i know i just did a big rant about shitty silly drawings as visual gags in hazbin. but della's shitty drawings are still distinct from the others and in character to Me)

3. huey attends stuff called jamborees and fun time functions.

oh nooooo a character i find cute feeling feelings of inadequacy... i sure wonder how enjoyable this episode will be for me :)K <3 ^^
