actually the thought of buneary really hating whoever manages to capture it at first is so funny n appropriate. she does look like a hater.

on the opposite end of the range is her evolved form who is just happy with you no matter what. babygirl what did they do to you

the paradox pokemon r also low friendship bc they're already in an unfamiliar place, and then they get captured. that makes sense. im kind of proud i got my iron valiant to max friendship... my baby

nymble and lokix r among the lowest too... lokix is another regular pokemon with weirdly 0 base friendship. guess he is a disadvantaged fighter (as a bug) so he has to be really untrusting

but he was untrusting even as nymble. these r the only three this close to 0 base friendship points, at 20. armarouge and ceruledge low trust/friendship makes sense since they're like knights.. fealty to none/one only

indeedee being immediately high friendship makes sense bc they are butler pokemon. it's like they imprint on whoever they're supposed to serve, whether it's the trainer who captured them or the trainer they were given to. they're naturally inclined to just do as told..

the difference between armarouge/ceruledge and the indeedees is fun bc you have two tropes that usually are high in loyalty - a knight and a butler. but the way they trust trainers is totally opposite! and it still makes sense!

you're like oh of course the knight is hard to gain loyalty from, because they're either freelance (wild) or already sworn to another lord whose cause they believe in (from another trainer). to switch suddenly to being a one-lord knight or to a new lord is jarring for them, especially because they are an evolved form.

whereas if you catch them as the more impressionable (you assume) charcadet, they have the same base friendship points as most other pokemon, bc they r bebe. but it's different when they've already settled into their role... so cool

tldr even if they are both kind of servile positions, the knight has stronger personal values / code of living and swearing loyalty is a BIG DEAL to them, whereas the butler is like "well this is my duty no matter to whom," so their take on serving someone new is vastly different

moving on. it's cute that these mythical pokemon are friendly :) i like the choice to make some mythicals/legendaries easy to befriend and the others (usually mainline game legendaries) like "why the fuckkkkkk am i in a pokeball"

shinx line sdfhhds. why are shinx + luxray at the normal base level (70 in old games, 50 in new) but luxio is comparably very easy to befriend.

that's so cute. you have a better chance btwn his shy and standoffish periods, in his awkward teen years where hes trying to be social

it's funny that clefairy line and chansey line are all shy in the wild (they run away from you in the game if they notice you iirc) but when you catch them they're immediately like "oh! ok :) you're my friend"

i used to be a croagunk hater but him having 100 base friendship is kinda moe. he looks like a rascal and a sneak, like he'd cause you trouble, but he's just a fun-loving, easygoing guy... he's baseline chill with u no matter what... that's cute

like i can see croagunk being down no matter what activity his trainer likes to do, no matter how uncool or niche. surfing? cowabunga! video games? he's player two. fashion? he'll pose for pictures. tea parties? pinky up. a guy who's cool with anything

sinister ghost types, hater/clannish pokemon (honchkrow and bisharp r clannish, chatot is a hater), and dragon types being lower than baseline also checks out

actually now i wanna go through and pick out pokemon who i think are haters
